Alla Prima Studios is a Houston area decorative painting company owned by Decorative Painter and Artist Bill Graffis. Graffis has been transforming dull, ordinary spaces into visually stimulating environments for almost 10 years. His prior experience in the interior design industry only adds to Graffis' ability to create aesthetically pleasing surroundings for his clients.

Years of experimenting with a variety of tools and techniques have given Graffis the experience and skill to craft one-of-a-kind works of art on just about any surface. While Graffis' specialty is gilding, Alla Prima Studios offers a full line of decorative painting services including: faux finishing, wall glazing, murals, and stenciling to name a few.

With his creativity, imagination, and ability to understand his clients' vision, Graffis has completed projects, both commercial and residential, in major cities across the United States. Graffis' satisfaction comes from creating the perfect atmosphere to fulfill each customer's desire.

In addition to his decorative painting work, Bill Graffis is also an accomplished artist. Working primarily in acrylic paints, Graffis specializes in creating unique Abstract/Expressionistic pieces.

Decorative painting contains a broad category of decorative finishes, such as, patinas, faux finishes, trompe l'oeil, gilding, and murals. One the most mis-used words today is "faux", being substituted for decora-tive finishes or patinas. To the decorative painter, faux means "fake" and represents painting a natural or manmade material such as a marble, wood, semi-precious stone, leather, tile, etc.
